Anybody knowa anything about the IS350
|
|
Thinking of upgrading my 02 RSX to a 2007 or 2008 IS350 but concerned about driving it in the winter. Anyone know how it rides in the snow?. It's has 'Snow mode' on it?. Probably put winters on it but hate to be fish tailing all the way up yonge street going home during the winter time.

nah. Just wondering what your opinions are on this car?. I hear it range from being an absolute beast to mind numbingly boring to drive.

Might as well pm Jeff, his reviews are generally pretty objective/no bias really.

LOL
seems to be a nice car overall, slap some winters on and you'll be fine in winter. throw some salt bags in the trunk if you're that worried.
hear it is boring but eih, who knows.

Anyways you're fine with winter tires. You need winter tires though.
The car is quick when you step on it but it's mild mannered otherwise.
Very smooth to drive but handles ok but not good. You will notice more of a difference with springs and f sport sway bars. The f sport sways are a must regardless.
Auto is auto. It's a normal auto and not dual clutch or anything but shifts smooth.

I was researching this car recently and all reviews that I read said that the BMW 330 was a more enjoyable car. It comes in 6 speed and handles much better. With the Lexus you can't turn off the driving aids.
Lexus reliability vs BMW perfomance
Or you could buy a used M5 and enjoy 400hp

I almost fell asleep reading this thread :P
330i FTMFW over the IS350 ANYDAY.... solly jeffos
OP, I have over 400ft/lbs and I'm not worried about winter at all. It's not like there aren't any traction aids.

You can turn off the trac control and vsa.

Only because it was brought up by someone else, I like the IS350, bought the 330i. Was talking with a guy about it the other day, as well as a poster in this thread a few weeks back, and although I have my gripes it'd take a cold day in hell before that car is pryed from my fingertips.

The G37 is more fun to drive. It's also shittier quality materials and interior and way louder inside.
It's tilted to more sport than luxury and the lexus goes the other way.
Having said that I really like the g37 but it's not as luxury oriented or feeling.
