Well, I don't really share very much on the site, but this is going to be fun and we're trying to get the word out. My restaurant/bar will be featured on The Food Network this Friday at 9pm on "You Gotta Eat Here". Kenzington Burger Bar in Downtown Barrie, Ontario. I'm going to take some flack for this one, but the filming on the show was the first time I had ever cooked in my kitchen at this restaurant... I'm not sure how it's all going to play out on TV, but we had a blast with John Catucci and the folks filming for 2 days last Summer. Haha, sorry. I've been to two. Relish in London - Great burger place and I liked it but now closed. Baffo's in Bolton - Crazy busy Italian restaurant but closed for some reason. Oh. one more place and it's open. Ciao Roma in Woodbridge - Good pizza but $$$$. They sell slices by weight. |

I don't own the Burger Bar and Tequila Tavern in Kensington Market. I own a restaurant/bar called Kenzington Burger Bar in Downtown Barrie. We get messed up all the time. A friend of mine was on the show and now he has 4 locations. I don't think all the places close. |

You Toronto guys have seen it all, we were the first and only in Barrie for a while before The Works came in, but they didn't really hurt us at all. I have a small kitchen at a relatively large space so we had to come up with a food concept that we could pull off with what was available to us. Luckily we've done fairly well with it! |

I have a few friends that own bars/restaurants down there and it's a much different scene than Barrie. That and I don't like to rent... I don't think I could afford to pay for a building in Toronto. Motivational classes!? I sell food and booze for a living... I couldn't go back to doing a M-F 9-5. The end goal is to hopefully be able to live abroad and have a little party beach bar. I've seen Cocktail a few too many times. |

Looked yummy! Wanna try one of those poutines. How much does John Catucci actually eat during the shoot? One bite each and share with crew? Those people at the restaurant are "usuals" rights? You let them know ahead of time and sit them for the show? |

John doesn't eat much... basically just the bites that you see on the filming. The staff eats after everything else. All the people at the filming were either regulars, ex staff, or members of the local business/media. We had to schedule 2 seatings at the restaurant at half capacity and picked 20 people that would be interviewed with John. Only about half of them made it on air. |

After a two hour stuck-in-traffic ride up the 400 to Barrie on our way to blue mountain, we decided to stop by your place again. Food was awesome. Staff friendly and the music you play reminds me of high school; chili peppers, third eye blind, oasis. Yes! I ordered the kenzie, but u guess the waitress heard kenzie Mac. So much burger! |

After being on TV, we've had a lot more access to media etc... it's definitely a lot easier to open new locations after the fact. I'm hoping to have 2 more in 2016 if I can find decent spots. edit: I'm the sole owner of the original one and the main corporation. I've started to let employees buy into the expansion ones.
