King Street Pilot

King Street Pilot
No longer will you need your left-hand signal in this area lol, this is going to cause havoc! This is just going to push traffic onto other streets.

Re: King Street Pilot

Solution - don't drive there? It's not a car friendly city at all.

Re: King Street Pilot

meh, very rare you'll want to take king along that stretch to cross the entire span of the area anyways. You should be taking richmond/adelaide.

Anyone able to define how the "public spaces" are supposed to be used?

Re: King Street Pilot

they should just consider converting it to a complete boardwalk/promenade with the street cars only going through.

Re: King Street Pilot

I love how despite the City stating there is a PR team behind this, hardly anyone knows about this plan. It's going to wreak havoc come Monday.

Sucks for me, I park just off of King and rely on it. Its going to suck hardcore.

The City is beyond stupid. If they want to plan something like this, great, but you CAN'T stop there. You're taking all the cars off of King? Then shift all the bikers there as well. Remove streetcars from other adjacent streets.

Everyone is going to spill onto Adelaide which in essence is the worst street to drive on. One lane has been converted to a bike lane. Construction all the time. Condo developments blocking lanes. Its going to go from the worst street to just hell.

Re: King Street Pilot

yea, they should just make queen/king street car and bike only.. and remove the bike lanes from richmond/adelaide to compensate. #wonteffectmeanywaysLOL

Re: King Street Pilot

This will be amazing for those who walk. I used to love it when they would close it for Tiff. Can't imagine ever driving on Adelaide, Queen or King. It's always nuts. Even the streetcars are always packed.

Re: King Street Pilot

The city should just close the road and not let anyone on king, no pedestrians, bikes, street cars, nothing.

I am all for the bike lanes tho.

Re: King Street Pilot

I see them patting their backs about how streetcar traffic is faster on King but nothing about the increase traffic on Queen, Front, Richmond and Adelaide.

Traffic was a lot lighter during my commute on Monday, I'm guessing due to many govt workers and banks being closed for Remembrance Day which fell on the weekend.

Re: King Street Pilot

Oh I forgot to add that a sign or two might help. What preparation was performed? Why not put up appropriate signage in each intersection? Can a driver really get ticketed if there is no signage?
