Spring cleaned the beater and wifey's car over the weekend. . JFC there must be one full bowl of Cheerios combined when I turned the car seats upside down. The raccoons would eat garbage yet the Cheerios remain untouched. Hmm. I tried using the salt stain remover, but I couldn't get some of it off. Any suggestions? The S was already insured 2-3 weeks ago since I had to resurrect it from the dead (18 months of parking it). The M will come out this week cuz where I park is getting the power wash treatment |

re: salt 50/50 mix of vinegar and water in a spray bottle has always worked wonders for me. Spray the shit out of the salty area, dab dry with a towel.. repeat. |

I've never got it to come off that easy, I usually have to work at it with a stiff brush to break down the chunks. |

Just changed both cars before the rain came in. My back is going to be screaming tomorrow. I miss the days of the 15" Fiat wheels. |

The stuff I use was this: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/salt-eraser-0390421p.html Its foam activated with minimal water (as I don't want the carpet to stay damp) -- scrubbed the shit out of it with a stiff brush -- got most chunks off but still have a bit left that's caked on. Is water+vinegar more potent? |

M3's getting jacked up tomorrow, high enough to change rod bearings as a DIY. Also applied a little plastidip to it, now no more chrome whatsoever. |

Yooo nice! If the mileage is high enough for rod bearings, your rear diff is on its way out too. Service life on that diff is 100k miles or some such (stated in the manual) |

For salt stains on any removable carpet, I just clip it to the wall of the carwash, and blast it for a minute with fresh water... Usually works ok. For stains inside ... |

Service life on that diff is 100k miles or some such (stated in the manual) Quick search yields 80k miles. Shifting 1-2 I can still break both sides free with Michelin PSS in 295 width. Seems my LSD is still working. Thanks for the heads up though. It's got 85k miles. |

for salt stains, use boiling water then a shop vac to draw back out the water. a steamer works best as it doesn't use that much water. thank me later. |
