The SC was made from 89-95 and the manual version runs low 15's, usually. It looks like it has great suspension, and good potential for power. I'd bet that one would give a miata a run for it's money on a road course.

They can be mighty nasty. $1200 is not bad at all for what you are getting. Local friend has two. Drop by http://www.SCCOA.com for more detailed information. They have the 8.8" rear which holds some serious power. The 5speeds are the quicker over the autos. Car is decent, rwd, parts are not crazy expensive, and they have a sleeper look to those that do not know.

Its a big heavy car and I love them. They had an aniversary edition that was black and silver.
My friend had one that had headers, cam, gear, tremec, drop springs, pulley and some other stuff. It was probably a high 13 second car after much work but it was extremely roomy and comfortable, also has IRS.
The turbo coupe is a whole other game. solid axle, all the SVO stuff bolts up to it as well as fox body mustang stuff. very cheap to mod and the 87/88's look a little better than the 89+ t birds.

Find an even rare Mercury XR7 with the 5-Speed/3.8 Supercharger.
However the 3.8 V6 from Ford eats head gaskets.

I always wondered why the thunderbird SC never caught on with the "big boat" performance guys like the GTP did - RWD and manual trans > fwd and automatic imho. i guess because they were not as common.
Anyways, I used to think they looked cool back in highschool 10 years ago. now I'd assume any example would be an absolute rat.
