Are you set on a SRI? I have the AEM CAI and love it, better gains than the SRI as well.

Search around for the cheapest prices but I bought mine off of the site listed. I also put in an '08 si sedan as your garage car. There's a ton of sites and a lot of people even buy off of ebay and just get new filters. Totally up to you man

Re: AEM or INJEN

yea you have to remove the front bumper... but i just took the wheel off and pulled the fender liner out and got an extension and a swivle socket to get to the "1" bolt that is very hard to get 2 off... then the air box will kinda be a bitch to get out but you just gotta work it and turn it right and it will slide right out.

Quick question guys. Does it sucks water in when it rains since it's close to the ground?

Re: AEM or INJEN

Instructions in the box are pretty good. There is a DIY (do it yourself) listed somewhere. I'll see if I can find it...as for the wheel well, I took off the tire and removed around 10 or so plastic clips. Takes longer to take all of the stock air system out then it does to install CAI. If you have any problems/questions just post up something. And who cares how long it takes you as long as you do it right. Oh and you have to basically submerge the filter or have direct water spraying on the filter as you are reving the engine to have it suck up in. I have had it on for a year and a half in a very wet climate and no problems. They do have a bypass but you have to modify the intake pipe to fit it in. Switchover sounds amazing with the CAI and I think you can feel a difference. Mods are addicting though just to warn you....

Okay I recieved the Intake today and Got little concern about the legality - I'm reading the front page of the manual says:
Kit Part # 21-519
2007-2008 Honda civic Coupe & Sedan CARB EO # Pending
WTF? Now I'm worried if I still install it or not or send the freakin' thing back to them. when you guys ordered yours did it have the Carb number Printed on the Manual?
What should I do Now? HELP Please! Aarrgghh!

Yes I did contacted AEM already and said that yes they're waiting for it to get approved. Since the car won't get a smog check in Five years I should be okay.
But now I'm worried the cops. Should I rev it in low RPM? Oh and the install part? it took me about 4 1/2 hours - and haven't test drove it yet cause wifee went to walmart to get something... dang!

You won't notice a big change in lower rpm. If you get on it as it gets close to the switch over you'll notice a significant difference. Especially when shifting hard through vtec. Also if you down shift on the highway into 4th to pass it will roar a bit. Nothing like an exhaust and I've been passed by a ton of cops and even drove by them and they've never even turned their heads. Just be smart about it. Hope you got to drive it, how did you like the mod?

Dang! this thing is a beast when passed 4000/4500 RPM! This is my very first mod and liked it and you're right it's addicting I'm already thinking of the next mod - Maybe my next mod is Paint the caliper red, Paint my rims to black, and drop the car - I'd like to drop it with TEIN S, Pro-kit or HFP - budget wise and also without affecting the camber or warranty. Suggestions?

Re: AEM or INJEN

I'm glad you like it. Black rims with red calipers would look nice. As far as suspension goes, if you don't want to void your warranty go HFP but installed by the dealer. I don't think Honda will warranty the HFP if you install it yourself because you could "improperly" install it. Intake, exhaust, rims/tires, brakes, minor mods won't void the warranty. As well as any cosmetic upgrades. My base is up soon and I can't wait so I can get a header, high flow cat, exhaust and get the hondata reflash.

yea you are damn lucky ur warranty is over. i know i got the headers but i damn want the reflash, but it would just be a waste of the warranty with a 8 month old car!

if your dealer isant a ass header, intake, exhaust will not void any warranty unless that MOD causes any problems with the car. as long as it dosnt hurt the car your warranty will be fine.

Re: AEM or INJEN

Was the forum down a day or two? or it's just me.. O well I'm glad it's back!
Second Mod update: Short shifter - be here by friday..
Would the HFP only drop your ride about an inch? or they also have options - I guess it's time to check with the stealership to see what option they have. Pats I think you're right I'm sure stealership would rather say "Let us install it so you'll pay us more or you'll void your warranty if you install it yourself" that's why I don't bring any of my car to them you know the one that passed warranty. I'd rather do it myself! saves me more $$.. If you could do it yourself it is much way better and also it's great way to learn.. Say AMEN!

Looks good man. What color and brand of paint did you use? I'm looking at a black as well although I might try for a Matte or something non glossy, only because I'm driving a TW and wondering how it would look. I have dark bronze Rota's and like the color so I think black would look good on the stocks that I'm keeping all seasons on. Are you going to put the H emblem back on the center caps?

I think it will look good either way. I actually picked up some Dupli color and will be attempting a slight two tone on the rims. I'm actually trying to find a white decal or emblem to put on after I do my stockies. I've seen red ones but no white. Going to check out honda online to see if they only sell the center caps or if they have a decal they sell.

My bad on another update, I found some on http://www.grafixpressions.com/grafix.shtml I don't know if anyone else has them or not but they come in a ton of different colors, i hate having too many choices because now I might have to photoshop or request one to see which H looks better

Re: AEM or INJEN

Dang! I'm getting a headache guys - need Help!
Okay here's my Dilemma
#1. I don't wanna spend about $500 or more on a HFP kit suspension but I won't have a problem with Warranty if stealership will install it - But you're looking at another $$ if they do the install. Also I'm planning on installing it myself so, there goes the warranty but saves me extra $$ - now see #2
#2. Since I'm doing the install I'm thinking of getting the Eibach pro-kit about half a price of HFP kit + I could use extra remaining $$ for tint (cause it's freakin' hot here in Bay area + ride would look sweet) and here's my questions? Would I be ok with the stock struts/shocks?
Help would greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys....

I think go with the red H. Not sure if you have the red H emblem on the front either, but that would match nicely. I don't think red lug nuts would look so good, but its your call.

If you are only interested in looks get the tint and the Eibachs. If you are interested in handling get the HFP kit. IMO, doesn't make sense to have Honda install the HFPs.

I went with Pro-Kit and the ride is awesome like a stock - I'm sticking with stock struts/shocks for now 'til it blows.
