Just give it to her since you already bought the thing. Worst case scenario she gives it back to you, best case you go past friend zone and get some benefits.
worst thing that can happen is she keeps the gift, pretends she's somewhat interested yet don't give you no pussy. get something else. take her to a broadway show like lion king. as least you get something out of it. then bang her after.

Be a man and buy 1 ticket - get her hooked into buying YOU a ticket to go with her.
So tight clothing is too personal, and yet this glittering turd on a string is ok? And since when does something like that cost $100?  ... Maybe it's cuz I don't shop at the 'lower end' stores....? (Not hating/being baller, I just don't go in, so don't have experience..)

If he wanted to give her something nice and equal value for the cologne then go with the pendant. He feels he's not coming off cheap and on the off hand chance it opens the door to something else then that's just a bonus.
I just hate shopping so if I've already gotten something then it's easier to stick with that then to return it and start from scratch again....but that's just me.

That's fine if it's time to move on, but did you try to raise the stakes at all, giving her signals as the gift was presented?
ex: Did you hand it to her over a table like it was tube socks or next to her with your hand on her leg? Did you give her a hug after she opened it? Did you put it on her? If yes did you give her a hug from behind? If yes was there a mirror closeby so she could see what it looked like on her and could also see you and her close in a mirror?
