Thinking of picking up a BRZ or a ND model Miata as a fun summer/weekend car.

You'll need the BRZ starter kit as well. Mudflaps, stick on fender flares, and a vape.

The BRZ/FRS with aftermarket exhaust does not sound good at all. I have yet to hear one that sounds decent.

Don't forget the 305 wide rear tire as well.

i've been happy with mine, just hit 150k on it. changed the clutch a few months ago, but only cause the bearing was worn out.

still get 500km per tank (42ish litres per fill up).

$30K buys a 15yr old S2K with 150kms on it. Or, a 3 year old Miata with 20kms lol.

I do like the new model Miatas the best, but a BRZ is a tiny bit more practical. The amounts of these things with Carfax claims is ridiculous. Prob half of the ones Ive looked at.

w/ rear seats folded down I can carry an extra set of tires and room for a tool box/ floor jack...

the only crap part is if/when you doing spark plugs, you gotta lift or drop the engine a bit to get access to them.

S2k if they weren't so beat or pricey. Better performance and long term reliability.

Having had both the Miata (NA and NB) and the FRS, both were super fun. Miata is great for top down in the elements, and FRS is insanely flat going thru corners. Tough choice, but you can't go wrong with either. If I had to pick again, I'd probably choose the Miata. I don't get many chances to whip a car around, but any drive can be made more enjoyable with sunshine and wind on your face.

4age has a miata now and nothing beats that top down experience when I'm behind him and all he hears is my car and can't hear his own LOL
