wife wants to go to Montreal with the kid in May for our 5th anniversary.
got no idea about the place, what areas are good etc.


ideas appreciated

edit: kid will be about 18 months old

I don't know but my general travel advice is to

Book hotel through HotWire (if you want a bigger room because rooms are guaranteed to accommodate 4 people) or PriceLine (if you want a better deal but rooms are guaranteed to accommodate 2 people)

Maybe book hotels in areas with >4*s?

Last resort, book in areas where there are high end stores

old montreal ftw (but you're most likely going to be staying a lil north of it of course)

i stayed at the Intercontiental hotel. Close to old montreal and the entertainment district tho you'll be with wife and child so that doesn't matter to you as much, but it's close to shopping and stuff

I lucked out big time @ Loft Hotel for July 1-4 2010 for $152/night \:o

It's like a 1000 sq/ft bachelor condo, amazing amenities, and right on St. Denis.... Absolutely amazing. I ended up getting the sweet deal @ http://www.booking.com .... Apparently it was their grand opening week, so the prices insanely cheap as they worked out the kinks.
