Wow, this thread brings it back. I joined ClubSi when I was 14 (I'm now almost 18) in December of '99, before I could even drive with a permit. I got one of the last '00 Sis in Maine in August of '00, and didn't even drive it until July of '01 (yes, I'm still one of the few with less than 15,xxx miles). CSi used to be such a closely-knit community and I remember watching threads with anticipation. I stopped visiting as often when the UBB was changed, as I really didn't like the format as well. I remember back to when I took a screenshot of 15,000 members (the first time), and it's below. Since then, I've gone on two CSi events and met some great people. I don't visit here as much, but I've got some great memories of the place, learned tons, and everyone still seems to do their best to help answer my questions when I do have them...and I'm still rocking one of the old school CSi stickers. Thanks, guys.
 - Nick (NR_si)

Looking at Faction's avitar reminds me of something, all the people that have sold their Sis. I'm now Si-less and I just think to how many others before me have sold theirs.

I doubt anyone remembers me. I went by "MaDNeSS" a few years back. I went on a few runs with the So Cal crew. We went up to Angeles Crest high way, then to los angeles conuty race way. I remember Nick had a tight Si, but had a spoiler that made his car look like a shopping cart...haha. Did he ever go through with that radical Honda insight idea? I remember those 2 horrible events....the death of one member on ortega highway, then the death of another members girlfriend who I had met at a previous run. Even though Im sure you guys dont remember me, I still think of this incredible sight, and all the cool people I met. Good luck.

yes, I am old school too. I am posting under this s/n at work (co-worker)
My s/n was banned by Pat (thanks) but it was ERAUCivic. I joined in Sep 1999. I remember driving x-country from FL to CA in the Si. I remember meeting OSM in Biloxi, MS on the way. I remember 300LBgorilla. I met ILovemySi, KamakaziSi, 99FoxSi, and Timmeh in CA when I was there. I also rmember being one of the first to do the ITR rear sway bar with Mugen parts (wen they sold the brackets seperately. I remember poly motor mount inserts. I remember ITR cams as the hot thing. I remember discussion about ITR swaps being possible (and doing it). I remember Brian (RIP) and SiSean going to the police academy. I remember the Tanabe RM deal, and how everything that came up on CSI became the trend (ITR rear sways, indiglos, altezzas (original), the the tanabe RM. I also remembre God. I remember NO OT forum, I remember the KAZZ LSD days. I was a freshman in college, at Embry-Riddle. I transferred after that year (fall99/spring00) to come here to FSU. I think about those days at least once a day. I regret transferring. Sucks. Post up what you remember

PS I met DROOPE187 on CSI along with DJERICKD, I even lent him 2000 before I really met him xmas 00.

I bought my Si in April '99 and registered here almost exactly one year later. I remember driving along happily in my unmodded car for a year, then stumbling on this web site. I was instantly hooked.
At the time, the AEM CAI and DC Sports 4-1 header were very popular mods, so I got 'em. Also got Neuspeed sport springs and Tokico non-adjustable shocks (also popular picks at the time).

Before Club Si, I had little knowledge about cars, let alone the idea of modding them. Why on earth would anyone lower a car??

I remember the great teachings and rants by OSM in the boost forum. Now it's st00pid building cars that run 11's.

Remember SiRacer's quest for 12's on street tires? How 'bout his turbo buildup, teardown, buildup, teardown, Vortech SC buildup... it was extremely entertaining and informative.

I toyed with the idea of boost for a while. I can't remember how many posts I saw that started with "Wooohooo! I'm Boosted!", then the same person was posting pictures of their blown engine 2 weeks later.

 I decided against boost.

I remember the day "god" was banned from ClubSi. Things really went to hell after that.

Club Si got me hooked on drag racing. I ran a few 16.2's the first time at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Another member (Ballzy2000Si) observed my fabulous bogging launch and gave me some tips. I hit high 15's after a few more runs that night.

I might never have tried drag racing if I hadn't stumbled on this site! Of course, I probably would not have destroyed my clutch last month, either...

Thanks for the memories, Club Si!

That "Phweeeew" moment of relief when I found out how cheap new gas guages were.
Finishing my "Doug" brand gauge bezel. (I ran across the "instructions" the other day...I am still amazed that Doug could turn out such a fine product and that he did so at such a reasonable price.)

I wasn't there during the old days, well, not really.
I remember I still had my 98 stang gt, I came over to this board to see what these "SI" civics were all about. Never registered just lurked around.

Well, three things happened to me:
1.) I got my ass handed to me one night on I95 heading east one night by an EBP SI, I loved the color of the car. That was a shock, I didnt see that coming
2.) I could not afford the insurance on the stang anymore.
3.) I was in the market for a new car after my DSM, the car after the stang, went to shit. I test drove the SI, due to my memory of getting my ass handed to me. I test drove one, fell in love and bought it.

After this I registered and have been here for about 8 months or so. Wish I could have been there in the old school days, looked like fun. Oh well, I plan to start going to some NE meets and getting to know some of the guys I have been talking with.

remember when you could go into CSi Chat and actually get technical info or have an intelligent conversation? now it's just like the out there forum.
remember when danielle sold her Si and bought a pick'em up truck?

ilovemysi, if you read this, who loves ya?

remember when the 1000 members from ohio overtook the general forum to prove that we needed a regional forum? now look at the region forums statistics and see which is the most active.

i remember when we hosted the first Ohio CSi meet, i paid for everyone's dinner, oih, i think i am still paying for that tab...

damn, i am still mad that after all that LS6.com shit, i still have lost 4 months of my register date...

i don't think there has been a day in the past 3.5 years, that i have not been on CSi

i still have my Halo B sticker in my window. interesting fact. i put that sticker on at the same time as my CSi sticker (given to us by Joji at the first Summit Import Nationals) and my CSi stickers have faded so bad that you can't read them anymore, but the B sticker still shines on...

i remember when sportinjection fried his clutch trying to master the Yellowcorn Style. hell, i remember when sportinjection was sportinjection and not Ten Twelve.

anyone remember gok? lol, where's he been lately?

i remember mixing up the gokmetal tm for gok and sending him cans of paint.

i remember when you can post something in the Out There forum and not be called newbie by someone who registered in august of 2002....

i remember when everyone used to rip on Type X, oh wait, that was yesterday...

i remember how much faster the old format was...

i remember when the Tsunami kits looked good.

i remember when tightening your throttle cable was a mod... so was removing your H emblem. but you were god if you could get your Civic emblem to stick in the grill.

remember gok's sweat shop pics of his kids all in the garage doing something with his car?

 ahh, the good ole days...

Wow, what really makes that funny is its true but seriously I remember when I used to have my stang and came here to read and I could never figure out why this Type X character caught so much shit all the time, then I signed up and I thought to myself, why doesnt Type X get picked on more?

I remember
- being the 2nd DX here, after a silver DX hatch (MR Hatch I beleive) &
-Meeting a bunch of peeps at Nopi00
-Beeing the only white DX in a long as line of Sis at NOPI
-Meeting OSM-first "old" guy I met with a phat Civic
-When FlyEX had like 100 posts a day
-When there were about 80% interesting posts
-When 137 and Diesel used to lay the smack down
-Hell, 137 had the first homemade black housing headlights, at least to my recolection.
-I joined on 1/25/00- only had my car 25 days.
-When "Post Masters" didn't ask newbie questions
-Hell, when there were no Postmasters, just Moderators and everybody else.
-When SiRacer posted pics of his Turbo install and I was just like "Damn"
-Tsunami lips were the absolute shit
-Everyone wanted the Arospeed RS11s that look like big Si wheels
I remeber alot, this board has changed alot, now I mostly just come and read. I don't post alot due to a lot of ignorant rookies posting stuff. When I came there were only a few thousand members. I remeber when the "Who's On Line" board listed about 20 people, I went to it today and there were about 200.
