Yeah, I went to a car show the other day...

Lighting was pretty harsh...early afternoon blue cloudless sky, so not many pics look that good.

That harsh light is working for the cars. Besides, this far into October, even noon light has a fair bit of angle to its dangle.

I'm guessing you posed the car for different several shots when you took that one? I like it but to me you went out of your way to take the shot perfectly head on and then the wheels are turned, on a straight path no less... which is killing it for me.

The only other thing that irks me is the tire stop marks on the path. You can easily tell it's been posed several times.

Actually we were in a huge rush and trespassing so that is the only time that car was posed.

The tire marks are probably from other people.

You are correct about taking the shot head on when the tires were turned for 3/4 shots. However I could photoshop the tires out so you would thing the wheels were turned straight, but I actually liked this version better.

I like the second picture much better.

Honestly I keep looking at the first two pictures and keep saying 'damn it would be sweet to see the suby driving through this scene, some dirt flying up, maybe a grass blade or two'... And then I get a driving shot of it on the road and I'm like, 'you're doing it wrong!'.

Like the pics, like your work on them, just not how I picture things in my head but that's moot.

Heh. I have a couple dirty suby pics but most of their owners dont wanna take em off road. That car is low enough that the exhaust would have been DESTROYED on that farm road doing any faster than 5mph.

I actually had to convince him to drive back there in the first place lol!

I'd love to get someone willing to tear it up on a windy dirt back road!

I like the composition of your first one the best, but that featureless sky bugs me. I'd like to see the brightness and contrast pushed up on the third one - It's essentially a high key image by default, might as well attack that angle with gusto.

I like that picture as it stands, that soft light and color is beautiful.

If you want to get rid of those converging verticals, photoshop can do it and you left yourself plenty of crop room (you'll lose two flag poles, but that's about it), but it's by no means necessary.

Point and shoots need tons of light to work. That's the reason I switched to SLR cameras. The camera on my phone is pretty good, otherwise I'd get an SDxxxx or S95 as well.
