First and foremost, FML.

Secondly, does any of this shit work? Not for red light cameras...looking for whether it would work on the 407.

I don’t know if it works or not, but it doesn’t matter because you will get booked regardless.

If you keep entering the same ramp at approximately the same time everyday and your plate keeps blanking out, they will station OPP at the gate and they will wait for you. Why do you think you see OPP during rush at the ramps just sitting there (they aren’t doing radar)? I know someone whose mother used to work there and this has been confirmed.

This can only work if you take the highway once in a while at different times, for the long term you will get booked. I’d like to know what the fines are.

Once they ID you, there's a flat $50 (per trip) for everytime your plate was unreadable plus the toll charges.

I guess the OPP just charge you with whatever HTA offence there is for an obstructed plate.

It is worth the hassle imo and I would invest up to 5k right now if I can have free 407 for life, I am serious. My work reimburses me for part of it, but not my full expense. I still have to pay $100/month for that shit!!! Definitely worth the money, but it's not cheap.

If the OPP is going through the trouble to stalk & to catch plate blockers, they would probably lay criminal charges on top of the HTA tickets. The last thing I need would be getting charged with some petty crime.

If there is a fail proof way of using the 407 for free, I am all for it. I just don't think there is a practical way without getting owned by them OPP.

I rarely use the 407 anymore ... ... For me, the only time I'd need it is to go to Vaughan Mills, or Mississauga @ the g-units sister's place ...

But the 404 -> VM is expensive (far) (meh, gotta pay to play!), and the Mississauga one is kinda retarded as I'm overshooting northwards to bypass the clogged 401...

Whatevs...

Took it from Markham to Oakville yesterday at around 10 AM...pretty smooth driving. Well worth the time savings as it took me 40 minutes driving 120 all the way there. (avoided all the BS on the 404 at around Islington)

I bailed to go home early so I didn't take the 407 so the boss couldnt' track when I actually started to go home.

I use it almost daily in the work van. I just can't stand to sit in traffic anymore even if it takes me a bit longer I rather be moving.

for almost 2 years i had my motorcycle plates tucked up out of the way of the cameras and not once did i get a bill or an OPP car waiting for me.
And i got on and off the same exit, same time (give or take 10min)

When i borrowed a friends pickup for 2-3 weeks, i put the tailgate down and never had an issue either lol. I had my transponder with me, but i just covered it when i got on and off so it never beeped. that way if i got pulled over i'd be like "what? i have my transponder"

he is right haha, i've passed the camera at over 190km/h on my Aprilia, before the plate got tucked, and got a bill. On the ramp from the 401 east to the 407 east, i think thats where it was.

It would be quite an interesting 407 bill if you did 190 kph sustained from start to finish and seeing that you did the kms at 1/2 the time.

i was going all the way to oakville so i diden't feel like paying..lol

why would you still be in the camera's viewing range pulling off the cloth?
