Been shooting a lot of bike racing recently, but haven't been able to catch a crash or a good finish line shot yet. Big races coming up this weekend, so I'm hoping to get one or the other... or both.
For now..... ouch:

Just curious about your thought process nate: are you going to pull those bike trails on the hill or leave them in and why?
Mmmmm I think I'll probably take them out, just because I feel like they don't add anything to the photo. But I'm not sure yet.

Thanks! The biggest thing in this picture is the guy running had a very static upper body compared to arms and legs moving... I can do panning on cars/planes/structurally static objects moving, it's trying to get people running that has been giving me troubles. I also found that 1/80sec can give some panning techniques when closer to the subject with a short length lens.

Is paintball a hobby or do you run a paintball company or something? Just curious...
Total hobby. Typically play one day a week and ref/photo on Saturdays.

It is but I love paintball so that helps a ton too.
As to not getting shot, I've found my hand strap helps a bunch and not using the neck strap so I can keep the lens facing down. Other then that, just being aware of what is going on and moving quickly.
Honestly the hardest part is not being able to see the entire viewfinder due to extra distance the paintball masks add... so I just keep it on center focus point as it's the quickest thing to find.

cool photo of the night. Hooked up my 60D to a 900mm telescope, making it a 1440mm equivalent. This was a quick pic, not a lot of details to it because I'm tired and mosquitos were biting me. I'll work on focusing and setting the shutter speed correctly tomorrow night when i'm not so tired.

This was nearing sunset, with rainclouds that had the sky at a good exposure that wasn't blowing out. I used a Singh-Ray Vari-ND for this one.

 Larger and On Black And 2048x971 Obviously a bit overcast and gray today, but the mood struck me (for the first time in a long time) to get out and shoot something. This is part of a much larger 6 shot pano at 70mm.
what, are you stalkin' me?  Nice Flatirons shot. I love rainy clouds on mountains.

Work in progress, this thing is coming together nicely but it still needs a lot of close detail work on the body. Also the background is slapped in there for reference only, it's a "representation" of what the final background will be.
