Pros/Cons of getting Enhanced Driver's Licence?

So my licence is up for renewal ...
Anyone have (or chose not to have) an EDL? It's an extra $40, and looks like you also have to book an appointment first (can't decide if this is good or bad...) Purpose of the appt seems to be that they need to 'interview' you? 
Side question: Anyone change an address/name on a card? Is there a charge for that? (Documentation doesn't seem to indicate a charge ... )

(For the conspiracy theory people ... Just found out it's got an RFID chip in it as well, and it comes with a sleeve to block radio waves  )

WTF does a EDL give you over a normal one?

Acts as a passport alternative when entering the USA via car or foot, but not via air. May also be used to enter other countries depending on their passport requirements. The EDL is good if you drive into the USA often, otherwise kinda pointless.

Nexus is a better option IMO. With a Nexus card, you don't have to wait in a line like the rest of the peons and commoners.
Nexus is like a VIP card to the champagne room at the Sundowner.

One downfall is that you can only renew it at a ServiceOntario that issues EDLs (which is usually a "corporate" office, aka a full-service ServiceOntario that isn't privately run)
When I did desktop replacements for the gov, I did the licensing offices, including in Windsor.
The workers at the corporate office in Windsor all didn't have an EDL
They said it's not worth the hassle, and these are people who cross the border to get gas haha

I'm headed to the only location downtown anyway @ College/Yonge ... Just scheduled an appt online for tomorrow  ... We'll see how it goes. For $40 over 5 yrs, meh ...
I'll get there earlier and see how bad it is to also update my health card ... (i.e. line up first for health card, then go to appt for EDL.)

It's easier than bringing your passport everywhere with you. I live 5 minutes from 2 of the border crossings, so it'd be easier for me to just have the licence than to have to go home every time when I feel like going over.
Sounds like you need a Nexus pass.
