Or at least give me the usual suspects. TiAl, Synapse?

I have an older Ebay special that's a knockoff of the TiAl 50mm but I'm not sure I want it to go on there...

I'm covered with my wastegate, its a TurboSmart.

I am. I don't think I want the POS ebay one on my car. It'll make a nice paperweight though... \:\)

How about this one:

not wanting an ebay one is perfectly fine...
but seems awfully weird to ask about which one...in 2012...

there are an assortment of great products some of which you listed.
its a spring/actuator that opens. not rocket science. just pick one of the name brands and worry more about other important things for the build.
imo

I went with the TurboSmart. As Euphoric said, its not rocket science and I've never heard a bad thing about TurboSmart. I read before you can't really go too big with a BOV so why not get a "mega", for ~$100 off I guess I did.. \:\)

CRAAAP! Treadstone broke the news that they are sold out and not getting any more in of the old style.

Would a 38mm BOV be large enough for up to 30psi and 400whp? I found some decent prices on the Turbosmart Vee Port Pro. Looks like a nice piece too.

Answering my own question. I found a DSM board where a similar question was answered. I guess the stock DSM BOV (ok recirculating valve) is approximately 34mm and starts to cause surging around 500whp +/-.

Therefore I ordered the Vee Port Pro, I know you were all on the edge of your seats... \:\)

Is there really anything to be worried about with the Ebay knockoff's? I plan to use the Godspeed units on ebay for my project car. As someone on LS1tech said, when have you ever heard of a BOV or wastegate failing? It's a cylinder with a spring, or maybe I'm missing something?

BOV

wastegate

the ebay units use a shitty diaphragm so under higher boost pressures they usually fail. also some of them have problems with not opening or staying shut, lol. as with anything, you get what you pay for.

ebay wastegates fail all the time.
