it's got some semi dual sport tires on it now. i'll burn through these and see what my riding style was and go from there. i've got a regular dirt bike if i feel like playing in the dirt. for some light trails/fire roads, these should be ok. i'm not sure i want to burn off a set of knobbies slabbing it to where i'm going.

Did you do any sharpening or 'clarity' boosting or is it a higher ISO (even 200-400ish can be rather funny)? The other thing could be just a tight crop.

I never give 2 fucks about bokeh, I just worry about my subject.

It's definitely a tight crop along with highpass overlay (0.9) and that's about it.. Didn't mess with it much at all. I really REALLY like this lens. IS is also awesome, I'm a firm believer now

Don't do the high pass on the background ;\) .

I should have some great bald eagle shots next week on my fishing trip. Hopefully a few bears/foxes as well.

Yeah this is pretty much the only place I go that's got them with any consistency.. We usually bonk (kill) a pike and feed the bird with it

I wish I had this lens last year, my 70-200 just wasn't long enough.. they are a bit spooky (Not a lot of human interaction up here)

Dude - lol - you need to stop sharping/highpassing the background - lol. Seriously.... This is a great time to learn to mask better. Or try Lightroom 4, it's got a lot better than LR3.

That's why I said try LR4... It's got a few simple controls that will allow you to mask quickly and it's easy. Or as I said, time to learn to mask better (I suck at it too, but getting better).

layers are what ps is all about.

And masking is dead easy with a Wacom tablet. Use a zero hardness brush and draw in the mask, fuck selection tools.

I'll admit its a bit easier to have fun on the bike with a badge in my back pocket. This was actually taken nowhere near NOVA. Northern Va SUCKS for riding in the DC/Metro area... i took this shot on my way home to visit the folks in Carroll County, MD. Its country out there and roads galore for bikes \:\)

And of COURSE we had a random ass cloud come over us on an otherwise gorgeous day when i was installing my Shock and link... thats the water on the tank. First time the bike had been wet since i've owned her.

cool. I've got an Intuos4 small. I could have lived easily with a Bamboo and small is fine, just enlarge the image 300-400% while working.
