I own a '92 Q45 with a VH45DE DOHC engine. I am looking for some more performance out of it. I have done many searchs on the web for performance mods, but have been unable to find any. So I will ask you guys for help.

Do you know of any company that makes performance cams for the VH45DE? I would normally just call up one of the big name Cam makers and have them custom make four for me, but the problem is that it has Variable Valve Timing. I don't really know what specifications to have the "Sticks" made to.

Please help me out.

Thanks in advance

I would suggest to purchase a wood lathe and make your own. You could save alot of money that way.

Have you gave Stillen a call? They are the Nissan/Infiniti experts and if they don't know, they I don't think anyone will. PS-don't email, they do not reply very fast (or did'nt when I contacted them a few years back).

kinda an off the wall question for a civic forum, but I'll do my best to help you out.

Most of the nissan guys I know that run in the SE-R cup races, use parts and cams from Jim Wolf Technologies. You can also try Stillen, but it seems like most of the racers are getting parts and support through JWT.

Before you go out and spend a bunch of money on parts like cams, do some research about your car and see what the most economical modifications are. I'd recommend some basic breathing mods and bolt on parts before opening up the motor for things like cams, which would be very expensive and may require additional tuning to run properly.

Your best bet would be to call JWT and have them recommend some parts for you.

Ditto. I forgot about them! I tried to purge all of that Nissan stuff out of my head when the SpecV went bye-bye last year. JWT was the key valvetrain people and since they are in "competition" with Stillen, the Stillen people may not have told you about them. Depending how nice the person was

The breathing issues have been taken care of. There is a Cold Air intake on it. And a free flowing exhaust from the headers back. I would like to get some performance headers, but no one makes them

Any other suggestions as to what to modify before getting cams?

Thanks for the Help
