Not bad, just try to catch cats off guard or asleep so you can get a few good shots before it gets tired of the camera and runs away. An easy trick is putting their bed / fort in a good composition then just wait for the shot. And replying to Kevin (I think) from a week or two ago. I'm waiting for the g/f to get here to do Christmas, so I haven't opened the 2X III extender yet. I will definitely be trying it out and there will be a full moon next week if the skies aren't cloudy. I will post pics soon. Edited by flyEX #1 (12/20/12 10:34 PM)

I still need to read how to use it, I have no idea on the power and settings. I just turned it on and went nuts. And getting the correct focus is a pain with her, because she thinks there is a toy or something she needs to do when I get her attention. So she lays down and jumps back up and lays down again trying to get whatever reward she thinks there is. Edited by 240sx805 (12/22/12 02:00 PM)

It also looks like your AF picked up the frame instead of the cat (she/he is a little soft). Use Tungsten or custom white balance, spot-focus on the cat's eyes, and turn on more lights if possible to even out lighting or invest in a flash. OCD kicking in I know that 50mm 1.8 lens can be slow to focus sometimes and the noise it makes can be good or bad, depending on your cat's reaction. Quick and dirty edit in LR3 to change the WB a little, etc:
