Shoulder width is the basic pull up that most people can do unless you are severely out of shape. And here we go again. Most humans likely can't even do one pullup. Bank it.
Wishful thinking on my part I guess...

Wait, a pull-up has to have your hands a certain distance apart? Shoulder width is the basic pull up that most people can do unless you are severely out of shape. The wider your grip the harder the pull up. So how are people over-estimating based on that. OP didn't ask how many wide arm pullups we could do. Ask a million people to do a pull-up and 99% of them are going to go with whatever feels natural, which Id imagine is somewhere around shoulder width.
The photo OP posted is bit more than shoulder width. I am willing to bet that 80% of the people here will not be able to do a single pull up at that grip. Then again this is clubsi and everyone has wings like Arnold.

I go super wide, all the way down and all the way up and keep the legs straight and I can do about 15 on the first set.
There's no way some of the people in this thread get anywhere close to what they are claiming if they follow proper form.
50 bro or UB*. *until boredom. That's why I strap a smaller bro to my back while I rep out... don't want to be there all day brochato.

I assume only a few people in here actually have a clue what they're talking about.
Here's 50...and hes doing them wrong https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QXqWWWwVPE
78 and still not right https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB7L7XcDArs
Not that they aren't strong or jacked.
Bottom line...I SERIOUSLY question anyone saying 50.

Exactly 20! Not 19? 21?
Everyone's round numbers are intrdasting.
at the crossfit games 2011 i went to, the marines had a booth where you could walk up and do pullups. if you got 30 you got some decent prize, if you got 20 you got a pen. i got the pen. i'm not sure anyone that day got 30

The black guy isn't that bad....at first.
About a year ago I tried "hollow" pullups. http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/better-pullups
They are a bitch, but awesome.
I fucked up years ago. I would do pullups with straps. That was a mistake. My grip is still weak, but improving.

On 15 chins. ALL THE WAY DOWN AND BACK ABOVE THE BAR. I'll give it a shot on Friday at the gym. That's what I think I can do, so we'll see. I have still been lifting all year, since January, 4x per week. I think I've missed maybe 6 workouts all year? That's super. Have you actually been doing pullups? If no, you will be sub-10. Bank it.
just did a max set, palms away grip, got 10x. rested for about a second at the bottom of each hang, feet off ground. ive done pullups probably 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years. gonna hurt tomorrow..

So I was wrong...I did 10 chin-ups this morning. Used to be easier when I weighed like 165lbs...not I'm 193. I still wonder if you're doing proper chins.
Not hating too much here, but you've never seemed very strong. More skinny fat and weak. Unless something has changed.
