gf wanted a laptop with optical drive and 15.6", so just got whatever met those basic reqs

I pulled the trigger on a lenovo. If I swap to SSD I am assuming that will void my warranty amirite? In case something happened, can't i just swap the old drive in and return it/warranty it?
