Lookin' good stickaz, if you're really bored there's a calculator on fellrnr's site that'll tell you what a lighter body weight roughly works out to pace-wise: http://fellrnr.com/wiki/Running_Calculator
ironmom: that sucks, I hate the ones that linger forever like that. hopefully it'll clear up soon, maybe see a doc if it's still around after a few more days?

I'm working my way through the first week of marathon training (Pfitzinger's 18/55 plan). So far so good, I think I was in the perfect place to transition right into this plan from my previous training.
On a side note: I hit 100 days in my streak with this morning's run, averages out to ~6.7 miles/day.
The plan I'm on recommends taking a full day off per week, I'm debating between doing that and just keeping a super easy 5k or something to keep the streak going a bit longer...

The cliff notes of that weight/graded table is it's about :30s per pound dropped over a half. Not bad

I have had about 8 pairs and I love them. Currently doing road miles in the N1's and trail in the N2's. I get to order the new N3's next week and can't wait.
Don't trust him...hes paid to say that!

I don't think he was being sarcastic lol. Nice job man.

By contrast, Summer has officially started here in So Cal. Participated in the Grape Stomp Triathlon with friends this past Sunday. I opted for the swim portion of the relay while some of my more novice friends did the run/bike portion. Brought the kids along in the hopes they might want to get involved (which they do). All in all another fun but busy weekend.

BTW - I generally refrain from sharing my photos here and keep it limited to FB. Shoot me a PM if you want to creep my page.

Bought some new shoes (Saucony Guides) and the next-day ankle aches are still way too pronounced. I thought that pain was from the old worn-out shoes.

Are you doing an eval before picking up your shoes? If not, shoot over to an Asics or similar running shop. The former has VERY good diagnostics for both foot shape and running form.

I went to a proper running store where the dude looked at my stride and offered up the shoes that would be appropriate.
Old ones were Guide 6 (which where excellent), new ones are Guide 8, most recent version of the previous ones.

They are motion control--raised heel, etc... My stride is a really strange combination of motions, apparently.
Had great luck with the old ones until they wore out. Not sure what's up with the new ones.
 Stay tuned for more specifics...

Get with a running group. I'm mulling over Snails Pace or Cal Coast Track here in So Cal.

Went back to running store and exchanged for some Saucony Ride 7's. More cushion, less correction. Dude there was super helpful.
