If you do the install as shown above, the fogs will only receive power when the low beams are on. Any other state (DRL, parking lights, high beams) they will turn off.
They can be rewired to work however you like, either constant power, or perhaps using the parking lights (so they are on in all lighting states except when they're off and only DRL's are running).
As soon as I learn the wiring of this car, I will write up some ways to modify this WITHOUT cutting or splicing wires, etc. On my experience with 94-01 Integras, there were several one pin connectors on the fuse box to choose from to plug your accesory into. It was easy as that. On this car there is only the single 6-pin accesory plug, so it will have to be rewired elsewhere. I need a Helms/Haynes to learn the wiring, but I will update this soon.
Hope this helps, please feel free to ask more questions!

www.collegehillshonda.com or www.handaaccessories.com $238.80 USD
as for how they look, I believe they are 55W bulbs (they are H11) and match the lowbeams perfectly in terms of brightness and color. As for vision and field enhancement, I'll take some pics next time I get the chance to show the beam pattern, but I showed a few people last night and it's nuts. If the low beams let you see out between 11 and 1 (imagine a clock face), then the foglights let you see 10 and 2.

This is the type of post that we used to get on the 99-00 Si. I used to print them out and use them for all of my installs. Beautiful write up and nice pictures. Great Job

Great Write up! Keep us posted on how to power them via the park lights or always on. I had Honda install mine (Yeah they actually threw in the Fogs and Labor as a counter-offer when i was trying to beat them down under MSRP), but i'd like to rewire them myself.

that is something i should do too... in canada its about 25 xxx and with taxes and stuff it would come out to about 27000 but they marked it up to 29xxx! i think that is bull shit because if i plan to get even the fog lights or HFP body kit the price of the SI would easily go over 30 grand... 30 grand for a civic is just retarted

Excellent post Sonic!
I was wondering if you could tell me what is on the back of the factory fog light switch? I want to hook up an aftermarket kit to the factory switch, but I need 3 prongs: power, ground, and fog light wire.
Also does there look to be like a good place to mount aftermarket lights? and after cutting open the holes, would it look alright / be easy to file down the edges to make a smooth opening - since my foggers would not go around the whole plastic area.

it's not possible to do it, honda uses a bus system on the car, and unless you can re program the computer that controls the fogs you are not going to be able to do this. pretty much you'll have to manually rewire the fogs by hand to do this

Great write up!
How did you get the harness through the firewall? is there a nice, open grommet?

Thanks Gone.

My car came in this week. I had the car for about an hour and already had the car apart installing the fogs. These cars def need the fogs - those plastic ovals looks stupid.

With the help of this thread, the install was pretty easy.
