So I'm struggling a bit here making some choice. I'm looking for a Matte Black/Gunmetel wheel to contrast with my red car. I do not want anything with chrome lips, stripes, non symetrical spokes etc. I'm not going for a baller, extreme or even a fancy look. Simple, but just not stock. Something with a more aggressive offset and potentially shedding a few pounds.
Most people say to go with 19's as they tend to look better, but dropping an extra $1200 (shipping, TPMS, tires) for 1" seems a bit much, specially when you are likely adding weight over stock.
I'm also having bad luck with buying some used G35 Coupe 19" Rays. 370Z rims are going for a bit much. Most people selling are offering tires too, but since I'm AWD, I can't use their staggered setups for tires or they don't come with TPMS. No one wants to ship, especially to Canada.
Anyways, being that I already have 18's and TPMS, I was thinking of a few 18's. Only the Konig's and OZ wheels are lighter than stock IIRC. TSW's and Motegi's are about he same weight (estimating since they are not published).
I've also thought about powdercoating the 35th anniversary 350Z wheels - but I don't know if black 5 spokes would look that good.
TSW Donningtons:
TSW Willow Bronze
Motegi MR118
OZ Ultraleggera (a good bit more expensive, but only 18 pounds)
Konig Lace might be the exception on having two-tone (20 lbs)

I think black rims are meant to and do look good on some tuner cars, aka wrx, evo, etc...but on a luxobarge like the G35 they just won't look right.
Oh and powdercoating the 350z's wheels black would be the riciest idea ever. Sorry but I am really anal about OEM wheels being used on other cars. Painting them does not make it better.

I'm really diggin Audi RS4 wheels on sedans. And there's some decent replicas out there...

There's a factory gunmetal as well. My neighbor has them on his red RS4. It's pretty hot.

GTR wheels actually look ok on it, but I still would not do that. Like I said, I'm just abnormally anal about things like that.

Go with 19's in a simple straight spoke design. Im not that big a fan of dark wheels but if you do get them try not to get black wheels

My only gripe w/ that setup is that you're putting a prior generation's wheels on a current generation car. People always do that on Mustangs w/ Cobra wheels, really irks me.
If I had your car, i'd find a set of rear 18"s to mount up front and give it a slight drop. That way you get rid of that stupid looking factory stagger where the rear tires have a nice round profile but the front look square as hell. That bothers me every time I see those cars.

I am close to buying these in "black chrome", but they are far from black - almost a light gunmetal in pics.
I love those. Out of all the pics posted so far, this one is the winner imho. And your car is red? It will look even better.
