Looks pretty good Kyle. IMO you should darken the shadow a bit, and next time don't put the car exactly in the middle of your frame.

I dig... something just seems off in lower left corner of the bumper, though. I'd also darken everything around the car a bit just to make the car stand out a wee bit more.

Moved to a single strobe set up. Set up a gobo behind the plate and a reflector just under the camera in front of the food. How does this look to you guys? Granted the strawberries are getting a little old. Enough detail/shadow/texture? thanks.

Pff I dunno man. Off the top of my head, I would say first off, the yellow does not flatter the color of your food. Also, the space between them is what makes it look like you "put them there" and not how they would be normally. The lighting is flat, and the reflections on the plate are distracting. They have this stuff called "dulling spray," you should invest in some if you're going to be shooting food. Next time I would shoot at a more wide open aperture as well.  Also the composition isn't really working for me, you cropped out JUST a little bit of one of the leaves... You gotta crop more to make it look intentional, or not at all.

There's all sorts of tricks you can use to add little bits to your lighting. I would have probably done it with one large soft source, and a small hard source to create edges on the food. Not too bright, just some more pop. You can place a small mirror opposite your hard source and aim that, think of it like a "hard bounce" card. I used to do that a lot when I was shooting product photography day-in-day-out.
Think about complimentary colors as well when you're staging your shot, a blue cloth would look better, or a gray one or something so the red really stands out. And definitely get dulling spray for any shiny props you use. And get a polarizer.

1:30 am. I used to love going out and shooting late at night. Boston was so quiet. Anyone else like working in the middle of the night?
I've found that most creatives do. I'm in my element between 1 and 4 am.
