Needs more fill light by the eyes IMO. When I see portrait shots I really want to see a ton of detail in the eyes but that's me, who knows what the pros do/want/feel.

Saturation is fine IMO but it looks like the clarity is a little high for a portrait, at least IMO.

And let me guess, 50mm lens?

Thanks, I'll play with the fill a little next time. I had limited space in my living room so I couldn't put the AB immediately behind the camera.

It's the Tamron 17-50mm @ 50mm, f/8, 1/100s, ISO500.

Have you thought about putting one AB up high shooting down at like 45 degrees and one low and shooting up at 45 degrees with the lower one a little softer then the top one?

When I shoot at work a lot of product pictures I've found that 2 lights on different sides at about 45 degrees I get better results then just using one facing right at it.

If I'm backlighting then I use one of my ABs high at 45 degrees facing the product then use a bounce board in white to reflect back up.

it was unfortunately not a clean picture pre-process. Only way to save it was the mess with the levels. I know it looks overdone a bit, but I'm kinda digging it

Yeah, mid-stride. I really need to start manually focusing at smaller apertures when doing it. Auto focus isn't that reliable when doing it.

From the Dayton Air Show. What you're seeing is the jumper (member of Army's Golden Knights) did a reserve chute pull so the upper chute is his main. ISO 100, 105mm, 7.1, 1/320sec

Yep, camera needs a good cleaning. So does the screen on my laptop apparently. I didn't even notice it until I looked at this on my desktop.

I'll probably re-edit it later tonight or tomorrow.

That does suck about the paw, I have a couple shots like that and they bug me. You could leave it as it is as you'll probably get used to it and it'll stop bothering you, or you could crop in on her from the bottom and the *RIGHT* since it's her face and the sea front environment that makes the image. At any rate, it's too good of a shot to let go completely.

*edit* I had my cropping suggestion wrong because I don't know my left from my right apparently.

The paw doesn't really bother me and I agree with scooter, a little bit of a crop wouldn't hurt the image and focus more on her head so the paw would be all but irrelevant.
