i'm unsure on the lighting on this one... taken from the front porch near sunset with some pretty hazy skies. it was really washed out straight from the camera and this is the best i could do to save it.

i'm a finalist for the PDN World in Focus contest, and my portrait entry is currently on display at the PhotoPlus Expo in NYC. my wife took this for me, as i'm back in africa at the moment. pretty stoked!

From my first engagement shoot this past weekend. The couple was referred to me by a friend. They were awesome, really ingot the shoot and having a great time. Shooting their wedding in April. We did this at George Washington's Grist Mill in Mt Vernon.

Nate it's closed w/ finalists announced for PhotoPlus Expo a couple weeks ago. all finalists will be printed in the March 2013 issue of PDN, where they will also announce the category winners and grand prize.

What crooked horizon, lol.
For the most part I love the photo but the crooked horizon is killing it for me. Also could use a little more texture on the trunk and rocks a little (via sharpening, clarity, some form of processing I'm not aware of).
