Does anyone have any feed back on the Mugen racing suspension? I'm considering buying this setup off of my friend's EK. Is it worth it? I currently have GC's on OEM struts. Thanks for your help in advance!

I believe the drop is very mild and the spring rates are soft.

That setup is very nice, high quality obviously...

You *might* be able to get more bang for your buck, depending on what you want... Mugen parts are always very nice, but also VERY spendy.

Yea this is why im at a crossroads! My buddy is giving me a pretty good deal on the parts. But i also hear that the GC/Koni setup is nice too! Well i have two choices: Buy the Koni yellows to complete my setup or buy the mugen suspension w/ approx 38k miles on it for around the same price of the yellows alone! Plus being able to say that you have mugen full racing suspension on my ride may be reason enough for me!

just to note, you'll have to buy new sleeves for the GC's if you're going to run konis.

My Dad has the Mugen EK suspension for the CTR on his 99si, it rocks, the suspension is the best i have ever been on. it has softer rates then what you expect the car should have and in comparison to the other suspensions out there but it does the job the best. seriously, best suspension ever.

If you do get the Mugen, make sure it has the damping adjustment and youll love it.

You said "race suspension" so I assume you mean the Mugen N1 or N-Zero suspension, and not the Lowdown street suspension?

For the N1, it is pretty much race track only and is valved very stiff. If it is your daily driver I would honestly stay away from it, even though it is the best suspension you can get short of Moton or Penske.

The N-Zero is similar to the N1, but is valved softer to appeal the crowd who track their cars heavily. It is street-friendly but is still on the rough side.

Lowdown is the best compromise for street and occasional track events. Height is not adjustable so there's one less thing to screw around with. I've had quite a bit of experience with it and I like its performance. But the price is definitely not very attractive.

Depending on your budget, I would actually highly recommend PIC suspension:
www.picperformance.com
They have been very serious about research and development of their suspension. Every race I went to, I saw them spending a lot of time and effort to test and tune their suspension and get feedback from the racers.

My mistake it wasn't "race suspension" but it was the Mugen 5-Way Adjustable Suspension Kit (lowdown?). Here's a link: http://www.kingmotorsports.com/category.aspx?cat=44 it retails for 2068.00 but i would be getting a used setup for a fraction of the cost...Like Nate said' "Mugen FTW!"

Damn, i forgot about this thread! Its been a while....i bought and installed the Mugen suspension. I am completely satisfied with this setup!:D It rides a little harsh right now but i just have to adjust The struts. My car takes corners and turns like a champ!
BFG's + Mugen sus. = Ridin on rails!
Here are just a couple pics i took during the install...

How the rear sits...

The front is a little higher so i dont scrape over every bump...
