Searched and searched and I don't have a clear answer. I just bought a pair from ebay and I'm pretty sure the install is straightforward, but are they setup to work with the headlights on only or the parking lights? I would want them to be powered with just the parking lights on and the "foglight trick" seems a little sketchy since you can turn the fogs on anytime with that trick. I need a simple answer or how-to on which wire is tapped to power the fogs with just the parking lights on.

BTW...it's on an MR. Post your pics if you got 'em.

The fogs only turn on when the headlights are on. The foglight trick is one of the only ways to get it work with the parking lights.

Well I got them on and with a little research I found out how to rig them to just turn on with just the parking lights. Looks great. No foglight trick and it evens turns on with the high beams. One problem is the bezels stick out a bit on the outside near the vent. I'm thinking it is hitting the lens and may have to shave down the nub that the screw goes through. Anyone else have a bezel fitment problem? I'll post pics later.

Benzel issue is due to the way it's not cut correctly in the bumper. I had the same problem, so I went back and trimmed it. Fits fine now. Yes, you can add a relay and get it work that way, but in the end, it's the same as the foglight trick.

hEy, what did you do to get your fog lights to run with your parking lights? I have mine running with my head lights.

i got the depo kit which is a replica and not a true honda fog light kit, but looks just the same down to the button, wired a little differently though and can be used with out headlights or parking lights...but still turn off when you turn off the car

another difference with the depo kit and the oem is that the oem switch thingy plugs into the light switch somewhere in the steering column. the depo kit plugs directly into a aux power output line in the back of the fuse pannel

You know I asked this SAME question and never got a reply. I did, however, find this...

http://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1991524

This write up says replace the 7.5 with a 10. I want to do this rewire, but I'm really worried about burning up my harness so I've decided to leave it alone for now. Let me know how it goes.

Hey dudes.....I don't mean to bump an old thread but I thought it'd be the best way to get some help. Ever since I did this mod my parking lights won't flash when I turn on/off my Code Alarm. The alarm functions, just no parking light flash. I checked all five of the fuses I could find for the alarm, all are good to go. Any ideas?

Because of the foglight trick my harness started to burn after about probably 2 to 3 years or so not sure exactly, I was able to reverse it to oem specs and thankfully its working ok again. I recommend know one do this. Sorry just my advise.

The foglight trick will uses more power then it is designed to do which will cause an issue if you have an alarm. Best solution is to use a relay to drive the parking lights/foglights. Unfortunately, I didn't know this until after I opened up the dash, and checked the wiring again recently.

Hey I just installed my fog lights this past week. Under the kick panel is the fuse box, I found a connection that that went hot when I turned the parking lights on. I then ran the power wire straight to the battery and found a ground under the dash. Im able to control the fog lights via switch, and can leave the light on with the high beams. I also have a relay and a fuseable link so that nothing burns up.
