Got 90% done working on the DSM for the upcoming racing season. I don't have much time to work on cars anymore so I'm making the car simpler so that I can just get in it and drive and not worry about some hacked up not OEM fitting setup. The major mods are a freshened up 3 year old shep trans, PTT twin, 26" MT tires, stock bottom end, ARP headstuds, reused the metal headgasket that came with the motor (seems to be holding), FP2 cams, used evo valvesprings/retainers, stock intake, 2.5" UICP and LICP, JMF FMIC (3.8" deep by very wide and very tall), FP 68HTA turbo, FP cast exhaust manifold, FP O2 housing. I coated the hot parts myself in Techline Turbo X. Fuel is delivered by a 255 intank to a 255 inline (to be upgraded to a new Fuel Lab brushless pump mid summer), ID2000 injectors, evo ecu with my own PnP ecu patch harness and PnP speed density sensor harness that plugs into the stock MAF plug.
Look at all the room!
LICP air temp sensor.
The data from the LICP sensor:
The complete engine bay picture, still running stock evo 550's until I actually tune the speed density.
The control center: The car seems like it will haul balls on regular pump 93, but when the summer comes this is the fuel I'll be using (like last year).

Sorry, had a really busy week at work. I'll answer some questions as I don't want people to think that I am being rude.
Euphoric, yep, PVC intake. I do that because its cheaper and it pisses people off. Back in the day when I first ran my mid 11's at high 120 it was a joke, as many of my parts came from lowes/home depot/mcmastercarr and I would get laughed at in the staging lanes. Of course the car better than most, so I keep it to try to get people to laugh at the car.
Also I have an AWD, but the FWD makes an incredible summer car and has proven reliable. Also the car is in meh shape, so I don't feel bad parking it without being attended.
Nealic187, thanks for the help. Yes the trans went back together really well. I still have a damaged third gear where the slider locks it in, and reused all the synchros, but it shifts well. I didn't want to buy new parts only to find out I can't reassemble it. I will do it properly next winter when I get time. Should take about a day to drop it, put new gears/slider/synchros in it and put it back in the car.
Nurburing, can't really comment on the 68HTA much only to say that the car feels like it is able to move some lbs/min. We shall see as the track slips tell the tale.
Craig and Fcobra, I think you've both seen the car. Its got many flaws, but its also not a POS I don't think.

I won't post this on the DSM boards because they are full of haters, so here it is.
My quick and dirty testing of the 68HTA without any lbs/min as I have to calibrate a few things. For now just think in generalizations IE: low psi is low lbs/min and the higher psi is more lbs/min.
1. It is 50% efficient below 10 psi. 2. It is more efficient, approaching 70% at 15psi. 3. At 20 psi it is still 70% efficient. 4. At 25psi it is still 70% efficient.
At 25psi the air is over 302F where my IAT tops out so I can't continue the data. Doing the math on the intercooler it is 99.9% efficient, or more efficient than the accuracy of my sensors can delineate. Basically at all times my IC outlet temps are ambient temperature. I haven't pushed the IC as I need more fuel at the moment. This differs from say my evo that will pick up 10 deg F each gear I pull on the stock FMIC at 20psi.

I'm certainly no expert in this stuff but if you're seeing 70% at 25 psi, that's saying something. I'm assuming you could reasonably expect 28-29 psi out of this thing on E85 with your ID's and it won't be a hairdryer. Any idea how your observations compare to a garden variety E316G?

If you're thinking about an evoIII, I made 300WHP @ 23psi on my EvoIII, and pump, with a stock motor+FP2's. There's room above that, as some guys are able to get 370-ish AWHP from them. I was shooting for more, but my BOV was leaving above the 23psi.
IIRC, the 68HTA bolts right up, too... which would make it a great upgrade, too.

Well the first problem is that I have a stock motor. Worse than that when I tore it down I found top line pistons, so its weaker than stock. The second problem is that I really do plan on driving this thing a ton in the summer heat. That means a full size radiator and the OEM radiator fan. Yet another problem is that these transmissions don't last forever. You get about 10K miles making 450 foot lbs of torque to the wheels. With the 68HTA I'll be limited to about 380-400 ft lbs to the wheels. So with all that put together this turbo bolts on like stock (because externally it is 100% stock), I can run OEM oil feed and coolant lines (for OEM levels of reliability), the motor should handle it, the transmission should handle it, I can run a full size radiator with a OEM cooling fan and no denting of the water pipe. OEM fitment manifold, O2 housing, and downpipe. Nothing in the way, no hot parts near the alternator, nothing to worry about. No funny custom parts, no hard to get to bolts, no special tools needed. Hell most of the reason I converted to the evo ecu is because I am so comftorable with it and interfacing with it is sooooo easy for me. I wanted a car I can just get in, drive, and have fun. It will break, I realize that, but when it does the parts are cheap and it will be quick to repair.
When I get more time in the coming years I'd like to make my AWD a street legal "racecar" that I don't have to drive to/from the track.
