My roommate bought a new G37S without even test driving a 335i. I told him he was stupid.

Allan R once made a convincing argument for leasing even though I usually dislike the process myself. I wouldn't ever do it, but he seemed to know how to make it work. I think leasing can make financial sense for people that don't really care about cars, especially if you like trading up every couple of years. Me, I like to *own* my cars, particularly if I'm going to be doing any modding. I can't get emotionally attached to something I'm renting.

I did a stainless exhaust on what a little while ago. 4 door 6 sp awd.
Very fun car to drive, but did not feel like a 108+ car at all to me. I know from a roll they give up about 1/2 a car to 1 car to an E46m. Pretty good if you ask me.

I bet not after a full exhaust...
Stock exhaust, RWD version, and tune as my only mod, my car would obliterate an E46 M3.
Stock vs. stock, the M3 is definitley quicker.

Sure with a tune on a turbo car compared to a stock M. I would hope so. They seem to get quick easily but seems to be a low ceiling until they figure out how to control the direct injection. I like the car... drives well, looks awesome. Definitely lost all the great driving involvement I used to love about E36 and better (earlier) BMW's.
That vishnu tune is complete crap.

The car's a/f was all over the place, far too lean in the mid range. It also wouldn't start on first crank, had a bad enrichment hesitation, and poor TPS blend values making it hunt for idle. This is their "stage 2" or second gen or whatever BS that mail order tuners call it.

I haven't dealt with one on a Dinan tune yet. I have another guy coming in but we are probably gonna just go autronic and get some proper tuning in it that way.

When will they be offering the 335xi wagon? Because that would be perfect.

They already have control over DI. I guess you mean bigger injectors?
Saying the Vishnu tune is crap sounds pretty uneducated. There are several different maps. The one I sold the car on gained 65whp and 135 torque on the dyno. With the open diff, it was useless in first and most of second. The fueling and timing, logged timing, and boost were bang on where I'd have liked them to be. It also pulled my friend's 110mph Evo IX by a couple of cars on the highway. Guess the tune wasn't crap after all.

That's sounds more like a frakked fuel pump or bad install/harness to me. I have never seen a car not start on the first crank unless the high pressure pump was checking out. We've had a ton of 335i BMWs with Vishnu PROcedes on the dyno, all with the mail tune. Not one of them was lean. I've also never seen one with hesitation or idle issues.

Shiv was well liked by the miata people but the rampant FM fanboyism drove him off. Typical scenario: "Fuel distribution is causing you to lose power. FM's cars are pig rich at the front cylinder, lean at teh back." Fanboys: "Bullshit, if it mattered FM would do it." FM: "We now sell fuel rails." Fanboys: "Fuel rails are essential!"
Thatīs exactly what happened lol. He made a smart choice moving away from the miata crowd, you have a lot more to make on the turbo subby/evo/bmw camps.
Open rear diff and 400+ lb-ft? doesnīt sounds like fun on the track... an awesome allrounder though.

Including the dyno days we've done, I've seen 20+ 335s without those issues, and it seems you've seen 2 with them?
The one annoying issue I did see which they fixed was the high RPM limp mode/Mfg CEL. It is from boost pressure in manifold up at the rev band where the throttle plate starts closing. I'd say a really high percentage of people had that issue, like over 15%. All beyond 6500rpm.
Slow/mis-starts are the HP pump checking out, piggyback installation error, or map from wrong firmware loaded issue, period.

Sure thing! Everyone around here must be wrong!
Vishnu FTW Iamuneducated.

Edit: I've been around the tuning scene for a long time... long enough to know of all of Shiv's "endeavors" lol fail.
