I am curious to see who considers this a wise financial decision. But this is a car forum, so I'm sure we'll see some soon.

I don't think anyone here would call it a wise financial decision. It voids your warranty and puts unnecessary strain on a car that probably isn't even paid for in the majority of cases. While there is no real sound financial decisions with modding cars, a better idea would probably be to buy a used car with better performance out of the box. Car enthusiasts generally accept this. That's why SvA has almost no civic owners anymore. It's cheaper to buy an LS1 Camaro than it is to make a Civic do anything as well as the LS1, except for mpg/possibly comfort.

In a straight line, yes... But, if you like to do things like turn or stop, you can certainly put together an EG or EF civic that out do a freakin Ca-mullet for the same $$$...

So did you decide to go with the Comptech S/C instead of the Greddy turbo?

If you're talking about autocross, then yeah I guess. On a road course or track, though, and the camaro will fuck you up.

your high as a kite, I had about $7000 into my old civic including the car and it ran mid 12's, there was rarely a camero worth worrying about strip, street, or track.

You need to drink some brake fluid, kid, since I think that you're spelling deficiencies are probably indicative of further mental problems. If you think that there aren't infinitely more camAros in the mid 12's than civics, you're crazy. As a matter of fact, you're a liar. Wait, make that a bad liar. Let's see some timeslips.

Last time I was at the track there were 2 ford pintos pulling high 10s low 11s and I doubt either of them had 7 grrr in them.

Its all in preference. Any car can be made to go fast, so what if he wants to do it in his SI? Does it really bother you that much? Its his money, if he enjoys it thats what matters.

Cut your mullet, your head will probably fit up your ass more easily that way ...

Bringing up the cost factor is always moot, since there's always some redneck in a pinto running 10's or something along those lines.

if you supercharge your SI, your gay and wasting your money. ive made this mistake before on my old si. the charger only give you like 30-40 whp, i took the stupercharger off and went with a basic turbo set up and made well over an extra 100whp.

K thanks for letting everyone know there gay if they get a SC.
The power gains with the greddy setup are the same as the SC believe it or not. Plus you will get an estimated 25 hp more with an IHE. The greddy turbos are getting 225 hp tuned. NOT the claimed 250 they have on there site. A few people with the greddy setup already have proven this.
Time will tell how well the SC puts out.

I wasn't very impressed with the standard WRX. Had a lot of body roll, brakes were kind of mushy, and the 5 speed was imprecise. The STi transmission is almost worth the price increase alone. It can handle a pretty impressive amount of power by comparison to the standard WRX.
The 2006 WRX Turbo Transmission was re-worked and Subaru made it stronger. That was a issue of the past. There were two things that keep me to buying the WRX those were fuel consumption and price.
Regarding the S/C vs Turbo the only fact that makes me choosing the S/C is how easy I can go to N/A again without messing with oil lines, intercooler, etc
Im sure that the S/C with a good tuning is capable of making the K20 throw 300whp+ and with that numbers I will be a happy guy. More and you will have lots of troubles controlling a FWD car.
