With your CPA, get an MTax instead. Solid program from Waterloo, good co-op experience. I worked in international tax at one of the biggest insurance companies (love the life, in by 9 out by 5). Gained some valuable offshore tax experience and then joined the Big 4 and helped companies move millions of profits offshore (by the book) and help them save 25%.
So many routes to take with a MTax.
Can work in insurance with nice 9-5 schedule and make up to 200K as Assistant Vice President. Work in bank high net worth and advise wealthy bank clients and make 150K wining and dining. Prepare tax returns in your house and live in a $3.5M home like my neighbor.
Help people save taxes and you will be valued.
Tax in Canada is so high at 52%, lots of opportunities to legally avoid tax.
Seems like English is not a second language for you so that means you should be able to interpret the income tax act much better than 90% of those in the field and communicate your ideas/plans to your taxpayers.
